Inching closer to the more recent past, the Olympic Village we see today was built between 2006 and 2009. When the “Athletes Village” – as it was known at the time – housed the coaches and athletes for the 2010 games, this area was still relatively undeveloped, save for the housing units and a couple of small shops.
