I did that and when the truck switched to the next gear, the whole truck jolted (kinda like when you switch the 'shift firmness' option to 'on' with the Hypertech programmer except much harder). Last week my 2009 Silverado (Ext. Cab, 4wd, V8 4.8L) went into reduced power mode, was flashing stabilitrak, traction control, reduced power across the DIC.
